Emergency Preparedness


Emergencies often occur when we least expect them to. Which makes complete sense! Why would one expect an emergency? However, there are things you can do to prepare yourself for all types of emergencies from medical emergencies or natural disasters. Here are a few tips on how to prepare for an emergency.


  • 3- day supply of non-perishable foods for the entire family

  • Can Opener

  • Paper Plates

  • First Aid Kit

  • Water - a minimum of 1 gallon, per person, per day for drinking and hygiene

  • Prescription medication and glasses

  • Sleeping bag or warm blankets for each member of your family

  • Change of clothes for at least 3 days

  • Matches

  • Personal Hygiene items (don't forget to add feminine products)

  • Fire extinguisher

  • Masks

  • Battery-powered or hand-cranked radios and extra batteries

  • Flashlights with extra batteries

  • Cell phone with charger, extra battery

  • Whistle

  • Cash

  • Important family documents

  • Pet supplies

  • Paper & Pencil

  • Books, games, puzzles to entertain the kids
